Solx is determined to play a pivotal role in helping Puerto Rico meet its goal of meeting its electricity needs with 100% renewable energy by 2050, along with realizing interim goals of 40% by 2025, 60% by 2040, the phaseout of coal-fired generation by 2028, and a 30% improvement in energy efficiency by 2040.

Free Trade Zone

Tax / Tariff / Trade Benefits:

Exemption from the payment of tariffs and duties for foreign merchandise.

No time limit for the storage of the merchandise, nor requirement to specify final
destination.

Merchandise can be exported or transported to another Free Zone or Sub-Zone
without paying tariffs or taxes.

The payment of tariffs and / or excise taxes may be deferred at the time of sale.

Merchandise moved to Free Zone for export may be reimbursed for tariffs paid.

Government Investments

Puerto Rico Energy Public Policy Act (Act 17):

The 2019 Grid Recovery and Modernization plans include a renewable
energy goal for the commonwealth of: 40% by 2025, 60% by 2040, and
100% by 2050

The 2022 Puerto Rico Energy Resilience Fund approves $1B for these
efforts to begin in summer of 2023
